Streamlined ADU permitting process

In response to changes in State law, and as part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to increase efficiency for permit reviews, the Planning and Building Divisions have developed a new Building permit application form and process.  Residents who wish to build a new ADU or JADU can now submit a single application form and proceed through a single plan review process in order to obtain their Building Permit. ADU Building Permit Application Packet

ADU Ordinance updates were reviewed and approved by Town Council on April 7, 2020, with a second reading on April 21, 2020.  The Town’s current ordinance went into effect on May 21, 2020.  The Town Council staff reports can be found on the Town Agendas and Minutes Page.  This is Approved Ordinance 2307.  Any discrepancy between State law and the Town Code would default to State law.
