[ARCHIVED] MESSAGE FROM JAMIE FIELD, CHIEF OF POLICE

Professional - Smiling 2022

My priorities as Chief within the organization include focusing on recruitment, succession planning, and supporting our talented staff through ongoing training and opportunities. External emphasis will be maintaining a high quality of life in Los Gatos and Monte Sereno; to bridge, build, and enhance community relations.

I have a deep knowledge of the Los Gatos and Monte Sereno communities, strong partnerships throughout the law enforcement profession, and a robust pride for the members and quality of service provided by this department.  I believe in encouraging education, mentoring, and training opportunities as they are integral for our staff to build confidence, career development, and awareness in a rapidly evolving profession.

The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department is a resource to the community that we serve. Policing has evolved into a very data-driven process of crime prevention, response, and enforcement through legislative mandates and reform efforts. The Police Department will focus towards strengthening the relational based policing techniques that are at the grassroots to many historical reform movements. Strong community – police partnerships establish a foundation for trust, respect, and communication while sharing goals of crime prevention, education, and enforcement.

I am enthusiastic to lead and serve the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department and the communities we protect and serve.

                                                           - Jamie Field, Chief of Police
