Spring into Green
Join us this April at Town Plaza Park, in the heart of Los Gatos, to celebrate Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month, environmental sustainability, and the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! The festivities include environmentally focused exhibitor booths, a tree planting ceremony, the weekly Los Gatos Farmer’s Market, family-friendly activities, live music and more!
Mayor’s Welcome & Tree Planting Ceremony
Mayor Marcia Jensen will welcome attendees and lead the Town in our annual tree planting ceremony to honor Arbor Day and Los Gatos’ 40th Tree City USA award!
Eco-Educational & Informational Booths
Last year’s Spring into Green had over 20 booths from local non-profits and organizations sharing their organization’s mission and how they’re doing their part to keep Los Gatos Beautiful.
Please note that exhibitor space is extremely limited and are on an invite-only basis, and are typically reserved to local non-profits, government agencies, and local service club groups with an environmental focus. For more information on exhibitors booths contact Christina Hill at email@example.com.
Family Friendly Fun
There will be plenty of fun and activities for the whole family! Highlights include:
Recycled Art Project
Come to the event with your creative hats on! Attendees of all ages will have the opportunity to create a piece of art that represents the 50th anniversary of Earth Day using only recycled materials. There will be a table full of recycled materials and craft materials so you can design your own piece of art at the event. Artists can choose to take their artwork home or donate it to the Town to be displayed at the Los Gatos Public Library after the event.
Live Music & Activities
Local favorites, Hootenanny, will provide live music at the event. There will also be a rock climbing wall, face painting, and flower crown making, all for free! The Los Gatos Library will also be in attendance with fun and crafts for the kids.
Los Gatos Farmers’ Market
The weekly Los Gatos Farmers’ Market will take place as usual from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 pm. There will be special activities and vendors for the event. We encourage all shoppers to bring their reusable bags as always!
In honor of Earth Day and Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month, we highly encourage you to walk or ride your bike to the event and take advantage of the free bike valet.
If driving into the event there are a number of municipal parking lots located throughout downtown. You can see a map of the lots here. *Please note that the Montebello parking lot will be closed for the event, along with Montebello Way and Broadway between W. Main St. and S. Santa Cruz, and W. Main St. between University and S. Santa Cruz Ave. will be closed for the event from 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
