Town of Los Gatos & City of Monte Sereno Community Garage Sale - Saturday, October 3, 2015

The Los Gatos and Monte Sereno Community Garage Sale gives participants a chance to clean out their garages, attics, storage sheds and closets without sending those valuable items to the landfill. 

The Community Garage Sale is a partnership between the Town of Los Gatos and City of Monte Sereno. This event emphasizes recycling, reuse and giving while fostering a strong sense of community spirit in Los Gatos. It provides the opportunity to get acquainted with neighbors and promote responsible and sustainable practices for our environment. Registration closes September 23, 2015.

The Town of Los Gatos will not be issuing a Shopper's Guide this year.  Participating sellers must register online to be included in a list of garage sale locations that will be made available online prior to the event date. To register your garage sale, click here.

September 23, 2015 Planning Commission Agenda is Now Available Online

The agenda for the September 23, 2015 Planning Commission meeting is available online.  Planning Commission meetings are held regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Commission meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

To provide input on any Planning Commission agenda item, please visit the Public Guide to Town Council Meetings to learn more about how members of the public may submit comments via email, postal mail or hand-delivered prior to the Commission meeting at which the item will be considered.

The Town of Los Gatos and Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad present Screen on the Green - Friday, September 25, 2015

Enjoy a free family movie night under the stars in Oak Meadow Park. This year's featured film is Disney's Frozen

Children’s Activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with games hosted by LGS Recreation, music, face painting, and pictures with Princess Elsa.  Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad will be offering train and carousel rides for $2.00 per person. 

The movie will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. and it is recommended to bring blankets and low back chairs.  This year’s featured film, Frozen, will be shown on an inflatable movie screen in front of the Bandstand.  The Billy Jones Snack Bar will be selling BBQ selections, drinks and snacks from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Los Gatos - Monte Sereno Police Department to host National Prescription Drug Take-Back Event - Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at 41 Miles Avenue, Los Gatos

The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event, sponsored by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), in collaboration with Community Against Substance Abuse (CASA) and the West Valley Clean Water Program (WVCWP).

At this drive-through event, residents can drop-off medications for disposal, along with glass thermometers, household batteries, cell phones and eyeglasses.  Glass mercury thermometers can be exchanged for a safer mercury-free “solar thermometer” (while supplies last).

The event will be held at the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Service Center located at 41 Miles Avenue in Los Gatos.

Volunteers Needed to Serve on a Ad Hoc Citizen Committee

The Town of Los Gatos is seeking Town residents (who live in the incorporated areas of Los Gatos) interested in serving on an Ad Hoc Citizen Committee to evaluate and provide recommendations to the Town Council regarding potential revenue sources that require voter approval (i.e., utility taxes and an increase to the Town’s Transient Occupancy Tax).  

Candidates must be present for interviews with the Town Council on October 20, 2015. The Council will appoint three (3) resident representatives to serve with two (2) Council Members on a new Ad Hoc Citizen Committee.  The 5-member Committee will meet from November 2015 to August 2016 to work with staff to study the issues, seek public input (including a community survey), and report back to Council with recommendations and drafted ballot language, if any.  The public meetings will be held in the Town Council Chambers beginning in November.
