August 15, 2017 Town Council Agenda
is Now Available Online

The agenda for the August 15, 2017 Town Council meeting is available online. Of the 9 items on the agenda, Council will consider adopting an Interim Urgency Ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium prohibiting the processing and issuance of future land use development entitlements within the North 40 Specific Plan area until an update to the North 40 Specific Plan has been completed.

Town Council meetings are held regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Council meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

The Town welcomes public input on any Town Council agenda item. Please visit the Public Guide to Town Council Meetings to learn how members of the public may submit comments prior to the Council meeting at which the item will be considered. The public is also welcome to provide verbal testimony at the meeting.

Farmer's Market Relocation This Weekend

This weekend, on Sunday, August 13th, the Farmer's Market will relocate to parking lot 4 in downtown Los Gatos. The change is due to the Fiesta de Artes event, which is occurring August 12th-13th and will close down several streets downtown. Please refer here for more information. Parking lot 4 is located between Grays Lane and Elm Street.  Click here for the parking map.  The Farmer's Market hours of  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will remain the same.

Downtown Street Closure

August 12th - August 13th

North Santa Cruz Avenue between Bachman Avenue and West Main Street are scheduled to be closed 5:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 through Sunday August 13, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. due to the Fiesta de Artes event.  Affected roadways include: N. Santa Cruz Ave. from Main to Bachman, Montebello Avenue, and adjacent portions of Elm Ave., Bean Ave., Grays Ln., Royce St. and Nicholson Ave.  Access to South Santa Cruz Avenue will be available via University Avenue.

Video Archive Disruption

Granicus is the Town’s provider for the live stream and video archive of all Town Council and Planning Commission meetings. The company will be migrating these and other services to a more secure data center. This means that access to the video archive will be unavailable from 9:00 p.m. August 25, 2017 until 3:00 a.m. August 26, 2017. We appreciate the public’s patience during this important work.

Hernandez Avenue Closure

Hernandez Avenue will be closed starting on Monday, August 7th from the Monte Sereno City limits to Chestnut Avenue in order to repair a retaining wall that was damaged during the winter storm season. The work is expected to take approximately two weeks.  Signs will be placed in advance to inform the community of the closure.  Residents with questions regarding the closure can contact the Parks and Public Works Department at (408) 399-5770 or

Summer Traffic

The Town Council will be discussing summer cut-through traffic at its upcoming Council meeting on September 5th.  The item includes a discussion of current traffic alleviation measures and potential future mitigation strategies for the Town Council’s consideration. We  encourage you to attend the September 5th Council meeting. You are welcome to provide comments at the meeting or by submitting written comments to no later than 11:00 a.m. the day of the Council meeting.  You can find answers to frequently asked questions by clicking the link here.

One of the best ways to receive notification is by signing up for the Town’s “Notify Me” subscriptions.  For example, if you are interested in proposed new policies affecting properties in the Town, you are welcome to sign up for Town Council, Council Policy Committee, and Planning Commission.  You will receive notification and links to future agendas and reports. You can then monitor the activities of these groups and participate at your convenience.

Interested in Proposed Development in Town?

Visit the Town’s Pending Planning Projects site at:  From this site, you can search for planning applications by street name and address, or by clicking on the map option.  The information for projects includes a brief description, project planner, date filed, and status. Some projects include images/plans and other related documents for information only. For example, a new proposal was filed in late February for 16212 Los Gatos Blvd. (at the corner of Shannon).  By visiting the Pending Planning Projects, you can click on the development plans and see the new proposal for this location.
