North 40 Specific Plan Study Session Agenda

A joint Study Session with the Town Council, Planning Commission, and affected School Boards provides an opportunity to have questions answered by staff experts about the North 40 Specific Plan and related planning documents. The Study Session has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2016, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The study session will be held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. The purposes of the Study Session are to:

• Provide information and fact sharing on the North 40 Specific Plan, Housing Element, and Environmental Impact Report
• Provide an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers related to legal questions, housing questions, traffic, and schools

Questions and comments are welcome to be submitted prior to the Study Session. Survey Results Regarding Potential Revenue Measure

On May 31, 2016, the Town Council Ad Hoc Citizen Committee reviewed the following slide presentation which summarized the results of a recent, independent survey of Los Gatos voters regarding potential revenue measure(s) that could provide dedicated funding for Town services and facilities.  The Town commissioned Godbe Research, a well-respected and experienced opinion research firm, to conduct the survey.
 
The survey found that a general purpose, half-cent sales tax with a 25-year sunset for the November 2016 ballot is viable.  A quarter-cent sales tax is also feasible.  An utility user tax for the November 2016 ballot is not viable.  Over 75% of respondents have a favorable opinion of the job the Town is doing to provide public services to the community.  The residents’ strongest priorities are repairing roads, improving traffic flow, maintaining 9-1-1 response times, and repairing aging storm drains.
 
The Committee is recommending to the Town Council that it place a general purpose, half-cent sales tax with a 25-year sunset on the November 2016 ballot.  The Committee also discussed accountability measures to ensure that, if passed, funds would be spent on needed capital improvement projects. 
 
The Council is scheduled to discuss the survey results and the Committee’s recommendation on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.  The public is welcome to attend the Council meeting and submit comments to the Town at Manager@losgatosca.gov.

Participate in an online Usability Study

In an effort to improve the Town of Los Gatos website, the Town is looking for people who may be interested in participating in an online user usability study. 
 
The purpose of this user usability study is to better understand how site visitors are using the Town’s website so it can become a better resource for all visitors.  The evaluation should only take around 30 minutes to complete. Your responses will be anonymous and combined with responses from other participants.
