Advisory: Expect minor delays
on Shannon Road for Sewer Installation Project
 May 23-June 3

Beginning Monday, May 23 through Friday, June 3, traffic in each direction will experience minor delays on Shannon Road between Los Gatos Boulevard and Englewood Avenue.  Scheduled work hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. during that time frame.

Pacific Underground construction is under contract with West Valley Sanitation to add 110 feet of sewer mainline as well as add three sewer laterals to the new main line.

There is a Town-approved traffic control plan which consists of one-way traffic during the working hours. Message boards are required to be up in each direction a minimum of one week prior to work alerting traffic of the upcoming delays.

For questions or additional information about this project, please contact the Parks and Public Works Department at (408) 399-5770.

North 40 Phase 1-Story Pole Update

The story poles for the Phase 1 development proposal for the North 40 Specific Plan Area have been installed and will remain in place through July 2, 2016 pursuant to the story pole modification granted by the Town Council in February 2016.

The purpose of story poles is to inform the public that a planning application is pending for the property and that the public is welcome to submit comments on the proposal to the Town. The North 40 story poles were certified as to the accuracy of their location and height on May 4, 2016.

As required by the February modification, all poles will remain in place for 60 days from the certification and will come down after July 2, 2016. The approved story pole modification plan and action minutes from the February 16, 2016 Town Council meeting are available on the Town Website.

The Town encourages the community to view the story poles from the public right-of-way on Lark Avenue and Los Gatos Boulevard because the property is private with homes and businesses still in place.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact the Community Development Department at 408-354-6802 or by email at

Traffic and Parking around Schools - Online Survey

The Town of Los Gatos is proud to announce the release of a new online survey focused around Safe Routes to School.

This past spring the Town initiated a comprehensive analysis of travel patterns to school.  The study includes development of new Suggested Walk & Roll Maps to help identify those streets where improvements should be considered to ensure a safe and efficient commute to school.  Residents can find on the survey the Walk & Roll Maps and Concept Improvement Plans for suggested street improvements in town.

The online survey will be available through the end of the school year.
Links to the survey are also available on the Town's Safe Routes to School Page.  This project is being sponsored by the Town of Los Gatos, Los Gatos Union School District, Los Gatos-Monte Sereno High School District, and Hillbrook School.
