A joint study session to provide the opportunity to have questions answered about the North 40 has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2016 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The study session will be held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street.

More information about the study session, including an agenda, will be communicated within the next several weeks.

Big Truck Day at the Los Gatos Library
May 7, 2016, 10:00 a.m.

The Los Gatos Library is hosting the sixth “Big Truck Day” event at 10 a.m., Saturday May 7, in the Civic Center Parking Lot located at 110 E. Main Street. Come see vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from police cars to recycling trucks to fire engines.

For all those big trucks you see around Town, climb aboard and get a closer look, meet the drivers, and learn about the services they offer through their work with the Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department, and the Santa Clara County Fire Department. This event is always exciting and gives children and grown-ups alike the opportunity to see these amazing vehicles up close.

This fun event will be outside in the Civic Center Parking Lot, the perfect outing for a Saturday! Come enjoy the spring weather and see some Big Trucks! Kids will get to learn about the vehicles, their operators, and how they help keep our town safe and beautiful. After the trucks go, come over to the Los Gatos Library and get some books about Big Trucks to take home and share with the family.

The agenda for the May 11, 2016 Planning Commission meeting is available online. 

Planning Commission meetings are held regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Commission meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

To provide input on any Planning Commission agenda item, please visit the Public Guide to Town Council Meetings to learn more about how members of the public may submit comments via email, postal mail or hand-delivered prior to the Commission meeting at which the item will be considered.

Safe Routes To School Traffic and Parking Study
Share Your Ideas on Traffic Around Schools 
May 10 or May 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

The Town of Los Gatos, the Los Gatos Union Elementary School District, the Los Gatos –Saratoga Joint Union High School District, and Hillbrook School have partnered to improve traffic around local schools. The project is looking at ways of creating Safe Routes to School, to help alleviate vehicle traffic congestion, and to manage parking. Join the team for an opportunity to provide your input.

Two drop in open house style meetings are open to all residents and all grades K-12. Please attend the event that is most convenient for you, regardless of the school you attend.

  • May 10 – from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Van Meter School Multi Purpose Room
  • May 17 - from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Daves Avenue Multi Purpose Room

At the meetings you will see Walk and Roll Maps, recommended infrastructure improvements, and other ideas to help improve traffic and safety.  Don’t miss this chance to provide input.

Memorial Proposals for the Town of Los Gatos
Veterans Memorial
Public Comment Period: April 20-June 3, 2016

The Town of Los Gatos is working with the Veterans Memorial & Support Foundation of Los Gatos to commission a Veterans Memorial at the Town of Los Gatos Civic Center.

The Veterans Memorial will honor and recognize the courage, loyalty, dedication, commitment and sacrifice of those who have served to defend America’s freedom and will offer a site of contemplation for reflection and remembrance.  The memorial will be located at the Town of Los Gatos Civic Center, and is proposed to be located in the Redwood Grove located in the southwest corner of the Civic Center lawn fronting Main Street and immediately adjacent to Pageant Way.
