The agenda for the April 13, 2016 Planning Commission meeting is available online. 

Planning Commission meetings are held regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Commission meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

North 40 Phase 1-Story Pole Exception Request Continued to April 19th Town Council

After listening to public testimony, the Council continued its consideration of a proposed modification to a story pole exception for the North 40 Phase 1 due to existing active uses (both commercial and residential).
On April 5, 2016, the Town Council heard public testimony regarding a proposed modification of an approved story pole exception. The Town Council requested additional information and continued the deliberations on the exception until April 19, 2016. 
The public is encouraged to submit any comments via email to or by mail to 110 East Main Street Los Gatos, CA 95030 by 11a.m. on April 19, 2016; no public testimony will be taken on April 19th.

The Town encourages the community to view the story poles from the public right-of-way on Lark Avenue and Los Gatos Boulevard because this is private property. Adopt A Highway Clean Up Program

The Town of Los Gatos is sponsoring the Adopt A Highway Clean Up Program in order to help protect the environment and keep the Town entrances pristine.  This program will consist of monthly clean up days located at the Highway 17 exit 20B on and off circle ramps. Volunteers will meet at the Parks and Public Works Department, be given all appropriate safety equipment, and will be driven to the circle ramps by a trained staff member.

In order to participate in this program, volunteers are required to go through a mandatory training. Trainings will take place on the following dates at the Parks and Public Works Department, 41 Miles Avenue.

Adopt A Highway Clean Up Program Training Dates:

Tuesday, April 5th at 5:00pm

Wednesday, April 6th at 5:00pm
Tuesday, April 12th at 5:00pm
The first volunteer clean-up day will occur on Saturday, April 23rd from 8:00am-12:00pm.  Volunteers will receive a list of volunteer dates at the mandatory training.  For questions contact the Parks and Public Works Department at 408-399-5770 or

The Student Commissioner application deadline is Friday, April 29, 2016 and interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of May 9, 2016.

Town of Los Gatos Utility Box Art Program

The Town of Los Gatos is pleased to announce the completion of Phase 1 of our Outside the Box: Utility Box Art Program.

The purpose of this program is to enhance the ambiance of our community with pride, sustainability, and creativity through environmentally themed artwork. Meanwhile, discouraging graffiti and other acts of vandalism to our utility boxes. The results of this program have been truly amazing.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the artists behind these boxes: Lisa Hoffman, Olena Starovoitov, and Sara Mordecai for their beautiful contributions to the Town.

Art in the Council Chambers ~ Los Gatos High School Advanced Art Painting Exhibition

Showing February 1-April 28, 2016 in the Town Council Chambers.

The artwork on exhibit includes a small selection of oil paintings painted by the advanced art students studying with LGHS Art Department teacher, Mr. Thad Smith. Several of the students are showing their first ever oil paintings, while other students have studied this medium for the past three years. This exhibition is an exciting opportunity for the students to share their art with members of the general public, as well as to see their art showcased outside of the classroom.

Spring into Green April 24th

Celebrate Spring into Green with the Town of Los Gatos!

Celebrate Spring into Green with the Town of Los Gatos!
Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

On Sunday April 24th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm the Town will be hosting Spring into Green, a sustainability event to celebrate Earth Day, Arbor Day, and Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month at the Town Plaza.
Environmental vendors and partners from the local community will host interactive booths, including:
  • West Valley Clean Water Program
  • West Valley Collection & Recycling
  • Santa Clara Valley Water District, Parks Commission
  • Happy Hollow Park & Zoo
  • Santa Clara County Parks
  • Beautification Committee
  • PG&E Vegetation Program
  • Lick Observatory, and more!
This is a family friendly event, with free interactive activities for all ages including face painting, a photo booth, a rock climbing wall, and a live band. The event will take place in conjunction with the Town’s weekly Farmer’s Market to promote eating & buying locally. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the Town’s environmental consciousness, learn about sustainability, and collect feedback from residents regarding green issues in Town. See you there!
