On July 4, 2019, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department initiated a hit and run collision investigation that occurred on Blossom Hill Rd. at Old Blossom Hill Rd.
As a part of the investigation the department obtained video evidence made available by one of the involved parties.
On July 5, 2019, Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Officers continued the investigation and received additional information from an anonymous party who viewed the video of the incident online. This information led officers to an address in the 300 block of Shamrock Dr. in Campbell, where the suspect vehicle and suspect were located. At approximately 2:20 p.m., Dennis Munns, 32 years old, of San Jose, was placed under arrest by Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department for California Vehicle Code Sections 20002(a) - Hit and Run and 23103(a) - Reckless Driving. Munns was issued a criminal citation for the above charges and released at the scene without incident.
The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department reminds drivers that when they are involved in a traffic collision they should safely pull over to the side of the roadway, assess the need for any medical aid, exchange information with other parties, and contact the local police department if necessary. Drivers who flee the scene when involved in traffic collisions may be exposed to criminal prosecution for hit and run, and subjected to revocation of California Department of Motor Vehicles driver’s license privileges.
