PD - Emergency Preparedness Landing

CERT (Community Emergency Response Training) training academies are offered in the communities served by the Santa Clara County Fire Department and rotate throughout the year.

Some of the skills taught include personal preparedness, organizing resources, basic medical operations, basic search and rescue, how to use a fire extinguisher and basic damage assessment.

  • The Los Gatos/Monte Sereno CERT Academy is (6) nightly sessions and a (1) final skills exercise.
  • Students must attend all seven (7) class meetings to receive a Certificate of Completion.
  • Los Gatos/Monte Sereno CERT classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, on the following dates: 10/28/2019, 10/30/2019, 11/04/2019, 11/06/2019, 11/12/2019*, 11/13/2019 and 11/16/2019 Final/Graduation8:30am-12:30pm

*Note: Please note the class schedule shift due to Veterans Day (Monday 11/11 has been replaced with Tuesday 11/12)

This training course is open to individuals who live or work within the communities served by Santa Clara County Fire Department: Cupertino, Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and the unincorporated surrounding areas.

If you are interested in attending CERT and do not live or work in the jurisdictions served by the Santa Clara County Fire Department you can attend any of the CERT classes served by SCCFD, however, preference will be given to those who reside in any of the seven (7) SCCFD jurisdictions.
