Short-Term Rentals at the February 5, 2019 Town Council Meeting

A potential short-term rental ordinance will be discussed at the February 5, 2019 Town Council meeting.

At the October 2, 2018 Town Council meeting, Council directed staff to refer the short-term rental item to the Policy Committee for further discussion. On December 20, 2018 the Policy Committee recommended Council approval of a draft ordinance. The Town seeks community input on this issue.  The draft ordinance can be accessed here.

Short-term rental is the practice of renting out a portion of, or an entire home, to a person or group of people for a period of less than 30 nights. In recent years, there has been exponential growth through "sharing economy" websites such as Airbnb and VRBO.

Community members can share input on potential regulations for short-term rentals at the Town Council meeting on February 5, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Council Chambers located at 110 E Main Street.
