[ARCHIVED] Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan

The Town of Los Gatos Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission will be considering the Final Draft of the Town’s first Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan at a Special Meeting on Thursday, February 2, 2017.

The Plan and appendies are available for review on the Town’s website at the following links:

Final Draft Plan: http://www.losgatosca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/18818

Appendices: http://www.losgatosca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/18817

The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the Town Council Chambers to provide a greater opportunity for the public to attend and provide comments. Following the BPAC consideration ,the BPMP will be presented to the Parks Commission, Transportation and Parking Commission, and Planning Commission prior to consideration by the Town Council.

The Final Draft Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan represents the culmination of a nearly year-long process that has included substantial community input facilitated by the BPAC. Adoption of a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan by the Council will not only help guide the Town’s investment in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and programs, but it will also position the Town to compete for a wide-range of grant funds, including Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian dollars.

As directed by the Council, the BPMP has also integrated the Traffic Around Schools/Safe Routes to School (SR2S) Study recommendations into the Final BPMP. The complete list of SR2S projects are included in the BPMP, and have been both prioritized and cross-referenced against BPMP projects.

Concurrent with the publication of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, a companion online comment mapping tool has also been launched. This tool will provide the community with an additional opportunity to comment on the proposed projects identified in the BPMP on a geographical platform. Comments obtained through the online tool will be incorporated into the final published plan. The online comment tool can be accessed at the following link:
