Spring into Green
Join us in celebrating Earth Day, Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month and environmental awareness. The festivities will include a tree planting ceremony, the weekly Los Gatos Farmer's Market, family-friendly activities, live music and more. Some of the highlights include:
Free Bike Valet & Helmet Fittings
Go green and ride your bike to the event! The Los Gatos Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) will be offering a free bike valet where you can safely park your bike in a monitored, enclosed bike corral. The bike valet will be conveniently located in the event on Main St. between N. Santa Cruz and University Ave.
The LGMS Safe Routes to School will also be offering free helmet fittings for all ages to ensure that you and your little ones are riding safely.
Donation Drop-Off Location
The Los Gatos American Cancer Society Discovery Shop will have a donation drop-off area located in the parking spaces along the S. Santa Cruz side of Town Plaza Park so you can easily drop-off your unwanted goods to be reused and recycled. Please note, they can only accept the following items:
- Women's & Men's Clothing
- Accessories & Shoes
- Antiques & Vintage
Children's Entertainment & Live Music
There will be entertainment for the whole family with free face painting, a rock climbing wall, lawn games and live music by the Wildcat Mountain Ramblers. The Los Gatos library will also be in attendance offering kid-friendly activities.
Eco-Educational & Informational Booths
Visit over 20 booths from local non-profits and organizations to learn more about their mission and how they're doing their part to keep Los Gatos Beautiful. For a full list of the organizations in attendance scroll below.
The Los Gatos Farmers' Market will also be open during the event. They will also have a children's craft booth and plant workshop for you to enjoy. In honor of Earth Day they will not be giving out plastic bags that day so please remember to bring your reusable bags for shopping.
In honor of Earth Day and Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month, we highly encourage you to walk or ride your bike to the event and take advantage of the free bike valet.
If driving into the event there are a number of municipal parking lots located throughout downtown. You can see a map of the lots here. *Please note that the Montebello parking lot will be closed for the event, along with Montebello Way and Broadway between W. Main St. and S. Santa Cruz, and W. Main St. between University and S. Santa Cruz Ave. will be closed for the event from 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
