Volunteer Services
______________________________________________________________

Volunteers bring a broad spectrum of experiences and additional skills to the Town's many departments, programs, and special events. The Volunteer Services Program works to ensure a continued partnership between the Town of Los Gatos and the volunteer community to provide enhanced programs and services, and to promote civic pride.

Volunteer Opportunities and Placement

Opportunities are divided into categories based on organization and opportunity type.  See the information below for specific application and placement details.

Town Department Volunteer Opportunities

These opportunities work directly with Town departments, programs, and special events.  Volunteers provide support to staff and customers through clerical, special project, and maintenance tasks.

Town of Los Gatos Public Library Volunteer Opportunities

The Library Volunteer Program has a separate application process. Volunteers are placed in three annual groups: Summer Programs (selected in May), Fall Semester (selected in September) and Spring Semester (selected in January).  Students middle school aged and above, and adults, are invited to apply for volunteer positions for the Summer Programs, while students high school aged and above, and adults, are invited to apply for positions year-round.

Volunteers are asked to make a commitment to stay through the end of the
semester or summer, though may stay on longer, depending on project assignment.  The Library will work with students’ schedules to find volunteer shifts that do not interfere with school work or extra curricular activities.  Volunteers will typically work 1-2 days per week, 2-4 hours per day, depending on the project and their availability.

How to Apply
Complete and submit the Library Volunteer Application online by the application deadline. Applicants will be contacted by Library staff for interviews and placement.  Those submitted after the deadline will be kept on file for the next round of interviews.
Please Note: The Library Volunteer Application is a separate application from the general Town Volunteer Application.  A Library Volunteer Application must be submitted to be considered for a Library opportunity.
