Town of Los Gatos Open House
Saturday, October 24, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.


The Town of Los Gatos invites you to “Pop-in & Participate” in an open house on Saturday, October 24 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at your Town Hall, 110 E. Main Street, Los Gatos. 

The open house is designed to welcome residents and community members to Town Hall, meet and speak with your Council Members and Town Leaders, including the Town Manager, Town Police Officers, Code Compliance Officer and the Town’s Park Services Officer.  Tours of Town Hall will be provided as well as information on a variety of Town services. 

Please bring your families and enjoy the bear hunt Storywalk, Story time and various arts, crafts and games for the kids.  Residents and community members are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy on lawn during the festivities.

October 28, 2015 Planning Commission Agenda is Now Available Online


The agenda for the October 28, 2015 Planning Commission meeting is available online. 

Planning Commission meetings are held regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Commission meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

To provide input on any Planning Commission agenda item, please visit the Public Guide to Town Council Meetings to learn more about how members of the public may submit comments via email, postal mail or hand-delivered prior to the Commission meeting at which the item will be considered.

Volunteer to Serve on the Ad Hoc Citizen Committee Application Deadline Extended to
Friday, November 6, 2015

 
The Town of Los Gatos is seeking Town residents (who live in the incorporated areas of Los Gatos) interested in serving on an Ad Hoc Citizen Committee to evaluate and provide recommendations to the Town Council regarding the need for and composition of a potential ballot measure to fund various Town services, programs, operations, and maintenance activities in the Town. (i.e., utility taxes and an increase to the Town’s Transient Occupancy Tax)
 
The application period has been extended until Friday, November 6, 2015, for the remaining position.  The interview date and time are to be determined. The Committee will meet from November 2015 through August 2016 to work with staff to study the issues, seek public input (including a community survey), and report back to Council with recommendations and drafted ballot language, if any. The public meetings will be held in the Town Council Chamber beginning in November.
 
Applications are available in the Town Clerk’s Office at 110 E. Main St. or can be downloaded from the Town website.  Applications are due at the Town Clerk’s Office by Friday, November 6, 2015, by 5 p.m.

2016-2018 Poet Laureate
Application Deadline is November 2, 2015


The Town of Los Gatos is currently accepting applications for a Poet Laureate. The application deadline is November 2, 2015.  This prestigious position serves a two-year term as the ambassador of poetry and the literary arts for the community.

Poet Laureate Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be available to present and to provide poems for significant civic openings or Town celebrations during the two-year appointment.
  • Incorporate in-person and multi-media efforts to advocate for the appreciation and advancement of poetry and the literary arts.
  • Visit schools and attend Town functions as needed.
  • Undertake a significant cultural project with resonance to the Town and the lifestyle of Los Gatos.

There could be a wide variety of projects. Past examples include:

  • Coordinate and host poetry readings at local public venues
  • Establish poetry slams at local schools
  • Arrange for a published collection of Los Gatos poetry

Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation 55 Plus Program
hosts a 'Transitions' Support Group for Caregivers


The ‘Transitions’ support group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 1-3 PM. The group supports people who are feeling overwhelmed, including Caregivers. This group is appropriate for anyone who is needing support on life’s changes and challenges.

The LGS Recreation 55 Plus Program is dedicated to ensuring access to recreational, educational, and wellness opportunities for adults age 55 & better throughout Los Gatos, Saratoga and surrounding areas. Their goal is to provide a sense of belonging and encourage older adults to treat 55 Plus as an opportunity to re-invent themselves, gain fresh perspectives, make new friends and enjoy more adventures.
