October 3, 2017 Town Council Agenda
is Now Available Online

The agenda for the October 3, 2017 Town Council meeting is available online. Of the 6 items on the agenda, Council will consider an appeal of a Planning Commission decision denying a request to demolish three existing office buildings and construct a new, two-story office building with below grade and at grade parking on Alberto Way.  This item was continued from September 19 when Council opened and closed the verbal public comment for this item.  Additionally, there will be a Study Session to discuss potential amendments to the North 40 Specific Plan.   The purpose is for the Council to listen to public testimony and to provide direction on potential amendments to the North 40 Specific Plan that do not require changes to the Town's Housing Element or any additional environmental, economic, or other analysis. These parameters were established by the Town Council on September 27, 2016.

Town Council meetings are held regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Council meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

The Town welcomes public input on any Town Council agenda item. Please visit the Public Guide to Town Council Meetings to learn how members of the public may submit comments prior to the Council meeting at which the item will be considered. The public is also welcome to provide verbal testimony at the meeting.

CERT

Join the Community Emergency Response Team

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact the area and trains them in basic disaster response skills.  Some of these disaster response skills include fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.  CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responsers can rely on during disaster situations. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.

Volunteers sought for Bike Valet at Local Events

The Los Gatos Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission is supporting free Bike Valet parking at local events, building on the success of the Red, White and Blue block party, where we parked over 100 bikes, so we are ready with plenty of space and racks. Volunteering to park bikes is a ton of fun! You can sign up with some friends and make a date of it and high school students can even receive community service hours. Cyclists arriving at the event are always happy to see you and fun to talk to. Typically volunteers are needed for 2-hour shifts with each shift led by an experienced commissioner. If you would like to help out, please contact Maria Ristow, ristows@comcast.net to become a part of this amazing volunteer team. Help us take more cars off the road and make it easy for people to bike downtown.
