Summer heat this weekend!


While we enjoy all that our beautiful Town has to offer this Labor Day weekend, please remember some of the following hot weather precautions:

  • Drink more water than usual.
  • Wear a hat and light-colored clothing when you go out.
  • Help kids and the elderly stay cool.
  • Help pets find a cool spot and provide extra water.
  • During the hottest hours of the day, avoid strenuous activities and stay in air-conditioned  buildings.
  • Remember to never leave pets or kids in a parked car!

Summer Traffic


The Town Council will be discussing summer cut-through traffic at its upcoming Council meeting on September 5th.  The item includes a discussion of current traffic alleviation measures, other information, and potential next steps. You are welcome to attend the September 5th Council meeting. You may provide comments at the meeting or by submitting  written comments to ppw@losgatosca.gov no later than 11:00 a.m. the day of the Council meeting.  You can find answers to frequently asked questions by clicking the link here.

September 5, 2017 Town Council Agenda
is Now Available Online


The agenda for the September 5, 2017 Town Council meeting is available online. Of the 14 items on the agenda, Council will consider an appeal of a Planning Commission decision denying a request to construct a single-family residence on Bella Vista Avenue, discuss summer weekend traffic, prioritize four goals for the Town’s Age-Friendly designation, and consider amendments of the Town Code regarding Cellars and Electric Vehicles.


Town Council meetings are held regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers located at 110 E. Main Street. Council meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15. Live and archived videos are also available online.

The Town welcomes public input on any Town Council agenda item. Please visit the Public Guide to Town Council Meetings to learn how members of the public may submit comments prior to the Council meeting at which the item will be considered. The public is also welcome to provide verbal testimony at the meeting.

Town Council Policy Committee Special Meeting

Rescheduled to Thursday, September 7, 2017


The Town Council Policy Committee meeting is rescheduled to Thursday, September 7th at 11:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers.  The agenda is available here. The main items for discussion are the Commission Attendance Policy, the Facilities Use Policy, and regulations for food trucks.

Friday, September 15th


Join us at Oak Meadow Park for a free night of family fun. Our featured film will be shown on a large inflatable movie screen near the bandstand.  The fun will begin at 6:00 p.m. with children’s activities followed by showtime at approximately 7:30 p.m. when the sun goes down. For your enjoyment during the film, bring flashlights, blankets, and low back chairs.

North 40 Specific Plan Study Session


The Town Council will conduct a Study Session on October 3, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers immediately following the regular business items.  The purpose is for the Council to listen to public testimony and to provide direction on potential amendments to the North 40 Specific Plan that do not require changes to the Town's Housing Element or any additional environmental, economic, or other analysis. These parameters were established by the Town Council on September 27, 2016. The staff report for the Study Session is expected to be published on September 28, 2017.

September is National Preparedness Month


Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) within the Department of Homeland Security, National Preparedness Month encourages Americans to take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, schools, and communities. The Town has a series of emergency preparedness events scheduled for September and the months ahead to ensure that our team is prepared in the unfortunate event of a disaster. One of the best ways to receive notification is by signing up for the Town’s “Notify Me” subscriptions.  For example, if you are interested in proposed new policies affecting properties in the Town, you are welcome to sign up for Town Council, Council Policy Committee, and Planning Commission.  You will receive notification and links to future agendas and reports. You can then monitor the activities of these groups and participate at your convenience.

Interested in Proposed Development in Town?


Visit the Town’s Pending Planning Projects site at: www.losgatosca.gov/2378/L.  From this site, you can search for planning applications by street name and address, or by clicking on the map option.  The information for projects includes a brief description, project planner, date filed, and status. Some projects include images/plans and other related documents for information only. For example, a new proposal was filed in late February for 16212 Los Gatos Blvd. (at the corner of Shannon).  By visiting the Pending Planning Projects, you can click on the development plans and see the new proposal for this location.
