Make A Difference

Wondering How You Can Make a Difference in Keeping the Town Looking Good?

There are many things that residents can do...

There are a couple of things that residents can do.You can adopt a highway - where you provide cleanup or you can even cover the cost of a third party contractor to do it. The nice part about this is that you get to see the section of highway and the difference you make. Email james.kennard@dot.ca.gov or browse to the Caltrans Adopt a Highway web page: www.dot.ca.gov/maintenance/adopt-a-highway/index.html.

You can volunteer on the Town's Adopt a Highway team. We have adopted the circle ramps at Highway 9 and go out every couple months to clean those up. It is a great way to connect with other residents who share the same interest. Email Marina at mchislett@losgatosca.gov to participate.

Similarly, there is a local Beautification Committee that is a sub-committee of the Los Gatos Community Foundation. This committee meets quarterly but more importantly they conduct monthly cleanups on Saturday mornings on targeted areas in Town. Email Nancy at rnwalker1@comcast.net.

Finally, you can pick an area of interest to you and your neighbors and take it on. If you need help (garbage bags, reflective vests, pick up sticks) we can check them out to you. And you can even return the trash bags full and we’ll keep them. Email ppw@losgatosca.gov.

In summary, there are a number of ways you can connect and make a difference!
