Potential Changes to the North Forty Specific Plan

On November 17, 2016, the Town’s General Plan Committee (GPC) completed its review and discussion of the Town Council suggestions for potential changes to the North Forty Specific Plan.  The potential amendments are intended to be specific, require no additional environmental analysis, and require no modifications to the Town’s certified Housing Element of the General Plan.  The intention is not a rewrite of the entire Plan.  The video of the November GPC meeting is available at:  http://www.losgatosca.gov/GPC111716.  The video from the prior GPC meeting (October 27, 2016) regarding this topic is available at: http://www.losgatosca.gov/GPC102716.

The suggestions were identified at a Special Meeting of the Town Council on September 27, 2016.  The General Plan Committee discussed all of the ideas and provided recommendations on the Council’s suggestions, as well as additional items proposed by Committee members and by the public.  The GPC recommendations were the basis for detailed amendments to the Specific Plan for consideration during the public hearing at the Special December 15, 2016 Planning Commission meeting (video available at: http://www.losgatosca.gov/PC121516).  The item was continued to a Special January 26, 2017 meeting, with a start time of 7:00 p.m.   This item will also be heard by the Town Council (no tentative date).

The community is welcome to submit written comments to Sally Zarnowitz at szarnowitz@losgatosca.gov or Joel Paulson at jpaulson@losgatosca.gov for inclusion in the Planning Commission Staff Report/Addendum/Desk. Deadline for all written correspondence is 11:00 a.m. the day of the meeting.

Downtown Parking Garage Update

The Town of Los Gatos prides itself in a vibrant and historic downtown. The downtown succeeds as a destination for shopping and dining for the region, the state, and the world. This success has led to a long standing and increasing need for off street parking. The Town Council has recently reemphasized the importance of this topic. Click HERE to review more information regarding the Downtown parking garage update.
