If you enjoy getting out and exploring your town by foot then you should check out these two exciting mobile apps which offer some great historic walking tours available to you for free:
Los Gatos Library Mobile App--available in the Apple iTunes store or Android's Play Store, walking tours through the app include the beautiful Glen Ridge Neighborhood and the historic downtown area. Each tour begins at the library and is no longer than 1 hour unless you get sidetracked by something delicious to eat in our downtown area or start chatting with some of the town's friendly residents.

Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society
The Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society SCCHGS is a nonprofit educational organization. They:
- promote the study of history and genealogy
- collect documents and manuscripts
- record and preserve family histories
- provide research method instruction
- encourage compilation and publication
- assist other groups with common goals
- support and maintain the genealogical collection in the Santa Clara City Public Library
Historic American Newspapers. Limit to California and search with parenthesis "Los Gatos" as one of your search terms.
California Digital Newspaper Collection
A keyword searchable database of California newspapers from 1846-present. It includes the San Francisco Call and the the Chronicle - which often have information on Los Gatos.
History's Mysteries Socials
Do you enjoy sharing stories about Los Gatos? Book a free history program for your next club meeting or social get together.
These free outreach programs are geared towards community groups and organizations that have a majority of members who lived in Los Gatos during the 1950s and 1960s. (Ideal minimum group size is 15)
Sit down. Enjoy a meal or snack. Socialize and enjoy our presentation of collected digital images. If you can, help identify projected photographs from the library's historical images collection by sharing your stories of the people, places or events you recognize.
Your stories are an important contribution to the library's local history collection, and your involvement helps keep our community's history alive!

Items dropped off without an appointment will not be accepted as a donation to the collection.
